In Memoriam: Ford C. “Chet” June III (1947–2023)

We remember Ford “Chet” June III as a dedicated attorney, respected colleague, and beloved member of the Joliet legal community. Chet passed away peacefully on August 23, 2023, after decades of impactful legal service.

A graduate of Monmouth College and the University of Iowa College of Law, Chet began his career with the Polk County Legal Aid Society and went on to serve in various public and private legal roles across Illinois. He brought deep expertise in elder law and public policy, and practiced with integrity and compassion at June, Prodehl, Renzi & Lynch, LLC from 1986 until his passing.

Beyond his legal career, Chet was deeply committed to his community—serving on the Joliet Township High School Board, the Joliet Area Historical Society, and the Illinois Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. In 2012, he was honored with induction into the Joliet-Will County Hall of Pride.

Chet will be remembered for his warmth, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to justice and service.
